Meet Joe
Joe Calabro is pastry chef and co-owner of Pasticceria Gelateria Italiana (PGI), our Italian Pastry Shop. He puts his whole heart into this family-owned business. When he’s not crafting delicious desserts in the kitchen, you’ll see him greeting customers who have become long-time friends.
Accomplishments
Since 1988, Joe has competed in culinary shows in both Canada and abroad. Joe has received many awards for his work in cake decorating, sugar techniques, chocolate, and marzipan work.
In January 1998, as a member of Team Ontario, he participated in a fundraiser for the James Beard Foundation in New York City. Joe is also a member of the Canadian Federation of Chefs, the European World Master Chefs Society and Les Toques Blanches International.
