Opened in 1979, to both local and international visitors. Our customers are looking to enjoy the flavours of Italy and sweet, traditional European delights.
Everything is made fresh, in-house by pastry chef Joe Calabro and his talented team. At Pasticceria Gelateria Italiana (PGI) we use only the finest ingredients, and traditional craftmanship. Our breakfast pastries and desserts will transport you to Europe!

Meet Joe
Joe Calabro is pastry chef and co-owner of Pasticceria Gelateria Italiana (PGI), our Italian Pastry Shop. He puts his whole heart into this family-owned business. When not crafting delicious desserts in the kitchen, you’ll see him greeting customers, who have now become long-time friends.
Accomplishments
Since 1988, Joe has competed in culinary shows in both Canada and abroad. Joe has been lauded with many awards for his work in cake decorating, sugar techniques, chocolate, and marzipan work.
In January 1998, as a member of Team Ontario, he participated in a fund-raiser for the James Beard Foundation in New York City. Joe is also a member of the Canadian Federation of Chefs, the European World Master Chefs Society and Les Toques Blanches International.
